To mark the album release, Mimi and her team shares the stunning new video for the album single "Worthy," Watch Here

O'Bonsawin shares, "'Worthy' is a love note for overthinkers like me, for anyone who spends too much time worrying about being judged or comparing themselves to others. I wrote it during a time when I was fighting against the current instead of listening to myself. I wanted it to feel like an anthem, like the warm breeze that rushes through the trees on a summer day."

O'Bonsawin and her husband, drummer and co-producer Ryan Schurman, first played the song while touring Australia, where audiences helped shape its final form. Hearing them sing “Into my Body, Out of my Mind” with such conviction made them realize "Worthy" would become the heart of the album. "We've since watched it bring people together through singing, dancing, and shared emotion," she adds. JUNO nominated artist Miranda Mulholland adds her fiddle magic to the song.  - What’s The Story, Press Release

Homegrown

"This song comes from such a real place inside my heart. This is the kind of music I listen to, this is the style of music that feels like home to me. Instead of fighting the urge to fit in, we just let loose on this one," shares O'Bonsawin. "It’s my favourite way to close a concert or stir up a dance party at a festival. I can’t wait to rock it this summer at Mariposa Folk Festival and Hillside."

Mimi O'Bonsawin's connection to the land and to her roots runs deep. Whether she is on the road, in the studio, or in the garden, that relationship is a constant thread woven throughout her music and daily life. "Homegrown" also serves as a reminder that people belong to the earth, not the other way around. Rather than approaching the climate emergency solely through fear or despair, the song embraces the idea that action and meaningful change can also be inspired by joy, gratitude, and a shift in perspective.

'“Written like a journal entry, "Better Than Before" captures a period of profound uncertainty for O'Bonsawin, when she found herself questioning whether she could continue making music at all. Having relied on music as her primary way of connecting with the world since childhood, losing that sense of clarity was disorienting, but ultimately transformative.”-What’s the Story Press Release

"Mimi O’Bonsawin’s single ‘Steady’ is so heartfelt and disarmingly emotive that the feeling remains with you long after listening. O’Bonsawin’s vocal performance is gorgeous; her voice is clear and pure, reflective words delivered with intimate, melodic clarity.

If you like your music vulnerable and reflective, then absorb this and look out for O’Bonsawin’s upcoming album in 2026."
