Drift into Mimi O’Bonsawin’s universe. Where folk music has a groove and whimsy is disarming.

Award-winning alt-folk singer-songwriter Mimi O'Bonsawin invites audiences into a world where music, nature, and storytelling are deeply intertwined. Born in Northeastern Ontario, O'Bonsawin is French Canadian and W8banaki (Abénaki), and a member of the Odanak First Nation. Her genre-defying sound blends folk traditions with groove, playful experimentation, and heartfelt lyricism, creating songs that feel both intimate and expansive.

“Music & seeds are very much the same. They both start small and, with proper care, can grow into a beautiful garden that we all can share.”

EVOKE

New Album, Out Now

For Evoke, O’Bonsawin approached the album the same way she approaches  live arrangements with Ryan Schurman-Co-Producer and full time drummer: as moments captured in music. Reflecting on the project, O'Bonsawin shares, "I love singing every one of these songs in real life. These songs exist in a real place, not just inside our little log home studio. Every note played and every performance captured reflects the thing we love doing most. Drawing on the last two years of touring and crafting our sound became the fuel that helped bring these songs to life on this album." - What’s The Story
